2026 British Transplant Games - Sheffield Official Games Guide - Magazine - Page 9
wonderful Games experience! Together we will
build numerous media opportunities to raise awareness
of these amazing Games, which demonstrates how
well people can live with a transplant, celebrate the
donors, and highlight the importance of physical
activity to improving the health and wellbeing of
transplant recipients. Our thanks to PLMR, Mach 3
and MLS on ensuring a strong profile for the Games
in the build up to Sheffield 2026.
On behalf of the Trustees of Transplant Active, my
final thanks to the members of the Stakeholder Board
under the Chairmanship of Steve Purdham, and the
Marketing and Communications Groups of the Games,
who have diligently built a platform for another
wonderful event. Integral to the ongoing success
of BTG is the support from Yuri, John, Libby and
colleagues from MLS who put on the Games for us
and work hard to make sure BTG is an annual
spectacle and successful event.
The Games, in bringing together the entire transplant
community, remain an inspiring and life-affirming event
that should stimulate everyone reading this Guide,
or watching the Games, to proactively join
the organ donor register, or at the very least,
have a conversation with loved ones,
about your wishes to donate.
