SPORTS THERAPY TEAM
The Games is indebted to the multi-disciplinary Therapy
Team, who this year will be approaching fifty therapists.
Under the guidance and management of Alison
Bloxham, TS Therapy Lead, there will be a mix of
qualified and training Physiotherapists, Sports Therapists
and Sports and Exercise Psychologists.
This Team will provide immeasurable support to the
athletes in the Games, ensuring the athletes are fit and
able to participate to their optimum in four days of backto-back activities.
The Therapy Team along with first aiders and other
medical support (as appropriate) will be present at
virtually every event in the Games providing pre and
post-event massage, injury assessment and treatment,
emotional wellbeing and sports performance support.
We are also indebted to Simon Bowen and Maggie
McNerney, from the Society of Sports Therapists who
have provided significant support, finding the vital
financial support for the Games Therapists and offering
this on an annual basis.
