National Videogame Museum
In the heart of Sheffield lies the UK’s only museum
dedicated to videogames, where the past, present,
and future of gaming come to life. Part arcade, part
museum, and part creative playground, it’s fun for all
ages.
Journey through decades of gaming history, from
early prototypes and rare consoles to icons like Sonic,
Donkey Kong, and Space Invaders. Whether reliving
your gaming past or exploring what’s next, every item
tells a story.
The National Videogame Museum is dedicated to
celebrating and interrogating videogame history and
culture over the last 50 years. Unlike a traditional
museum, NVM features over 100 playable exhibits,
from retro arcade machines to modern game consoles,
making it fully interactive and a really fun day out.
Alongside the 100+ playable games, the team
preserves over 5,000 objects of videogame heritage
for future generations through its collection.
