It’s impossible to overstate the value of our health
and wellbeing. For those on the waiting list and
their families, needing a transplant often brings
great anxiety. On top of any physical symptoms,
the sense of losing control over their own wellbeing
can wreak havoc on their mental health.
For those who haven’t experienced it, the
conversation around organ donation can feel
difficult, but it’s a conversation that can make a
huge difference.
Last year, the NHS facilitated nearly 4,600
transplants, but around 7,000 people remain on
the waiting list.
That’s why the Westfield Health British Transplant
Games are so important.
Year after year, the Games bring people together
in a celebration of life, raising awareness of organ
donation and the incredible impact it has.
This event is about so much more than sport —
it’s a catalyst for conversation, for getting people
talking about organ donation and its power to save
and transform lives.
