and colleagues.
Since Leeds 2022, Transplant Active, NHSBT
and the Games, have created a throwback to the
traditional organ donor card designed specially
with the Games and the host region in mind. For
the Oxfordshire Games, this pink wallet-sized organ
donor card has a QR code which we hope you
will use, or family members will use to register their
intent to be an organ donor.
Despite England passing the law of Deemed
Consent in 2020 (during the Covid Pandemic),
organ donation rates have not improved. Whilst
4,500 transplants were performed last year,
people waiting for an organ transplant has
now risen to 8,000.
